In Brief | Random Picture

A Self-Standing Broom!

I recently went through my old digital photos and found a small one taken on a cell phone of a broom. The amazing part was that day, we could get any broom to stand on its own. We only took one picture =(, but we did it on many surfaces and with a few different brooms.

HowTo: Fly With TB

How to fly with tuberculosis? Just fly to Canada and drive into the U.S.!

Let's pretend your infected and want to fly to your European wedding, then just go through Canada on your way back and avoid American law enforcement!

This Gridskipper blog post describes one man's journey to avoid American authority, go to his wedding in Greece and his honeymoon, then fly back to Canada, and his drive to Georgia, where he was quarantined for the first time in a long while.

What kind of idiot would do such a thing? Especially when it risks the lives of many people who were on the planes. A terrorist indeed. ;-) ~Adam~

How To Give Your Photo A Movie-Like Quality

300 The Movie Screenshots, By...
You!

The Ebin, digital media blog gives an awesome tutorial on how to transform any photo and make it look like a scene from a movie. This nice tutorial is for Photoshop and is very easy. (It may not look easy at a glance, but follow the directions and it takes about 30 seconds.

I find this to be a very useful tutorial. It completely transforms my photos, it's amazing.

New Name Change?!?!?

New Name Change?

Yes, that's right. The Notebook News Blog is expanding a lot, (that part is still a work in progress...) and we have decided to rename it. Of course, the question pops up, what to name? You know what we provide, (if not, review the blog so far,) and only readers can decide on a name. (We are also working on directing more readers our way, too :) ) What good is a lot of great news if we have to make it fit in a Notebook? None, so help us decide on a new name.

There will be new features with the updated blog, such as;

  • more interactive web features,
  • we are trying to bring a better podcast,
  • and a forum, for when we get more readers and supporters.

Supporting us by offering ideas of helping us out with the blog would be greatly appreciated and worth it. So, please do it.

New Flickr slideshow embedder!

Embed Flickr Slideshows Super EZ with
flickrSLiDR

I know of a few people who would love a good, easy way to embed their Flicker pics and slideshows on their blogs, and of course there isn't a completely easy way. But now there is. If you want to embed your pictures or slideshows in your website or blog, check out flickrSLiDR.

With flickrSLiDR, all you have to do is paste the URL of the picture, username, photoset, slideshow or whatever else you would like to wave around, set the parameters for the slideshow (basic only =[) and you're done. It's a very useful and user friendly tool that should become a part of Flickr. (Of course, that won't happen. :( )

Oprah's Polydactyl

I have recently seen a very strange and disturbing picture. Oprah has polydactyl! (She has six toes.) I don't even know what to say about this, so let me know through comments and emails. It's not a big deal, I just wasn't expecting it I guess. I found it today on TheMaxFM blog, but the never post much, so all they had was a picture.

Currently: Secret ;) Update

Currently: Secret ;)
A great forum to bash Jagex and talk about what they are doing wrong!

I recently blogged about this forum, which was supposed to be a nice place to bash Jagex and discuss what they are doing wrong with their moderation system. well, Jagex (being the snobby retards they are,) gave the creator an order of cease and desist. They tracked her IP address to her Runescape Member account username. They told her she would be banned and sued for possible hacking and releasing private and copyrighted material to the public. The problem with that is, the only thing that could be considered that was the copy of the P-Mod Newspaper she had posted up there. Not realizing this, the creator closed down the forum. She is now starting a RPG in it and hopes to rebuild it's status. I hope to help regain the threads bashing Jagex, since they have nothing else they can do about it. Besides, there is no rule against it in the first place. There is rules against certain things in websites, there is nothing they have against the forums besides the cheated copy of the newspaper. But we will just have to see what happens....

The Trojan War Blog is No More!

The Trojan War:
There is a war. A very strange war that started a few hundred years ago in Europe. This war is a war against the evil powers of, The Trojan Horse.

Yes, this was a blog that I had started. This blog was to be great, with much information about tech news and updates in the new world of innovation. Most of it concerning computers and spyware/ trojans. But sadly, with my blog system currently being under one poster, I have not much time for this blog. I am currently archiving it and removing it from existence. I will still continue to keep you up to dat with this blog. The great blog for all you needs.

How To Replace Important Documents

How to replace lost or destroyed documents;

This interesting bargaineering blog entry explains a few methods of replacing lost important documents such as;

  • Passports

  • Marriage Licenses (Or divorce papers)

  • Diplomas

This blog should be checked out if you need to replace anything.

It's not like you purposefully lose anything, but every person loses something in their life. it doesn't matter who or what you are. And quite frankly, you'll lose something important.

This financial blog has a few good tips on how to handle replacing these documents besides yelling, screaming, cussing and/or crying about it. (Besides, that never gets you anywhere...)

How to accelerate video streaming on Youtube?

Have
you ever felt bored waiting for a Youtube video to stream? The best
technique you used till today would be 'hit the pause button and get a
coffee'. Now there's a better way if you use firefox. A new greasemonkey
script Coralized Youtube makes Youtube videos stream faster. This user
script uses Coral Content Distribution Network to accelerate video
performance on YouTube.Install this script from here.

Alternative:For
those who don't use firefox there's a solution for you people
too. Download SpeedBit Video Accelerator for YouTube which also does the
same job. It is basically a Web Accelerator which makes your videos
stream faster and play smoother reducing buffering problems. You can
download SpeedBit Video Accelerator for YouTube from here.

TinyMCE 2.1.1 Released

[Quoted From http://tinymce.moxiecode.com/punbb/viewtopic.php?id=6939]

This release contains lots and lots of bug fixes and a few new features. Here are some details on some of them.

We
added a new forced_root_block option, this enables you to force TinyMCE
to always place any non block elements at root level into a block such
as a P tag or a DIV.

Google video and YouTube support is now
built in to the media plugin simply paste a URL to such a resource into
the URL field of the media plugin and it will setup everything for you.
We have been thinking of making separate dialogs for external video
files but this will have to postponed for a future release.

A
new default_document option was added this option makes it possible to
use TinyMCE in a cross domain environment. This is more likely to be
used by larger sites or corporations and if you don't know what the
problem is don't bother to use the option. smile

The
core has been cleaned some by removing unused code blocks, rewriting
lots of it and use simpler methods for property retrieval.

Apos/'
characters are no longer encoded since they only need to be encoded if
they are places in attributes using apos characters as their separator
values and TinyMCE doesn't support such elements since 99% of the web
don't use them.

A old but annoying bug regarding IE and the
removal of width and height attributes has now finally been resolved.
So now you can have tags like <img src="my.gif" width="100" /> if
you like.

Removed support and logic for IE 5.0. That browser is just to old now
days and companies like Yahoo are beginning to end their support for it
anyway.

Anyway, thanks a lot for all bug reports and patches for this release.

Best regards,

Spocke - Main developer of TinyMCE

BlueBox MiJam Mini Keyz Miniature Keyboard Accessory

[Quoted Directly from http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/ipod/review/bluebox-mijam-mini-keyz-miniature-keyboard/]

----------------------------------------

As one of two new MiJam series iPod-compatible toys from BlueBox (aka
b2), the MiJam Mini Keyz combines 8 synthesizer-style keys and simple
drum loops to add musical notes and beats to an iPod's audio. One cable
connects to your iPod's headphone port, the other to an included
speaker so you can hear your combined music out loud. A headphone port
lets you work in quiet, or connect a recording device (not included) to
preserve your playing. Mini Keys' output is adjusted with tiny Tempo
Up/Down and Volume Up/Down buttons, as well as Rhythm and Style buttons
that transform the type of synthesized music it's playing.

---------------------------------------

This product looks like a great idea. I have not purchased it, so I don't know how user-friednly it is.

I have seen a similar product like this, but the one I saw was very generic. It was at KB Toys. You plug up your Ipod and move the spinner like a scratch disc for a DJ. This product is much more advanced and probably has better quality. Something I will definately check out.

Myspace/Photobucket Overlap NEarly 100%

Quoted from Tech Crutch

NewsCorp plans to pay half as much for Photobucket as they did for MySpace. Photobucket is going for $300 million with the earnout (a steal compared to Google/YouTube), and MySpace was acquired for $580 million, back in 2005.

Two separate analytics services, though, show that the Photobucket deal will bring very few new customers to MySpace because of the nearly 100% overlap in users.

Nielsen/Netratings says MySpace has 55.9 million monthly unique visitors, compared to Photobucket’s 14.7 million. Combined though, the sites will have just 57.7 million unique visitors. That means just just 1.8 million of Photobucket’s visitors don’t currently visit MySpace, too. That’s a 3% gain for MySpace. If you count just new users, MySpace is paying $167 for each one of them.

Comscore tells a similar story, showing that 77% of Photobucket’s users are also visiting MySpace regularly.

As a point of comparison, the overlap between Google and YouTube was even greater according to Comscore. At the time of the acquisition in October 2006, 80% of YouTube’s users also visited Google regularly.

MySpace already offers its users the same basic services as Photobucket (photo and video sharing). If they aren’t buying Photobucket for the product and they aren’t getting any new users…t hen why are they buying them? To limit the availability of Photobucket features and all that user content to other fast-growing social networks without these features? Because they can? Let’s see what MySpace has to say about this as the deal closes.

Quoted Directly from http://www.ipodhacks.com
-----------
Barbarian Software has just released version 0.1 beta of Magnetosphere, hands down the most amazing looking and mesmerizing iTunes visualization plug-in we have ever seen. To quote its creator:
Here is this thing that does stuff in iTunes. There is magnetism, there is gravity, but on top of all of that, there is awesomeness. Watch as all the dots and ribbons go bouncy bouncy when you play music and trigger this mo-fo of a visualizer. This is the future of visuals. God help you if you smoke the reefer cause you can kiss your productivity goodbye.

If you are even remotely amused by the standard iTunes visualizer, you owe it to yourself to check out Magnetosphere. This plug-in is available for iTunes for both Mac OS X and Windows.

Sorry For The Delay Guys...

Hello readers and sorry for no posts Recently…

The current storm (which is awesome) has knocked out my power, so I am bloggin from the local library.

You shoulda seen the blogs I had planned out, but my main Desktop that I was using got attacked. It kept restarting and finally quit booting. I now have 4 fried computers in pieces in my room. Not a good thing....

But I do have one desktop left that I have great expectations for in Blogger.
Limited Windows XP, though.

Now, onto something you might actually care about…

My future savior from hard drive crashes. To most people, a hard drive crash is a terrible disaster. But with services like XDrive and MediaMax (with 25 gb of online storage) you can back up all of your files so a computer crash won’t stop you from getting your work done. There are many uses for these services, especially when combined with GMail and Google Docs and Spreadsheets.

PGA prize fund given a big boost

I Don't usually say much about sports in this, especially not golf, but here's some random gold news anyway.

PGA prize fund given a big boost

POSTED: 3:44 p.m. EST, February 22, 2007

LONDON, England -- A record prize fund of 4.35 million euros ($5.72 million) will be on offer at this year's PGA Championship, the European Tour has announced.
That is an increase of 100,000 euros on the 2006 tournament won by Britain's David Howell.
The 31-year-old Englishman will be chasing a record first prize of 725,000 euros when he bids for back-to-back victories at the Wentworth course in Surrey from May 24-27.
Sponsor BMW has also agreed to extend its backing of the European Tour's flagship event until 2010.
The PGA Championship has a long and rich history going back to 1955 when Ken Bousfield won the inaugural edition.
Nick Faldo lifted the trophy four times in 1978, 1980, 1981 and 1989 while Colin Montgomerie claimed a hat-trick of titles between 1998-2000.
Bernhard Langer was another triple champion in 1987, 1993 and 1995.

Runescape Updates!

Sorry I missed again!
(Taken directly from www.runescape.com)
-------------------------------------------------------------
12 February 2007 - A sq'irk a day...
Osman, known for his peaceful, innocent life relaxing in Al Kharid, has of late been miserably staring into an empty glass of sq’irk juice. For years he was able to deal directly with the sorceress to provide his favourite tipple, before their disagreement over prices. Since then, Osman has tried desperately to find out how she grows them, but the secret is so well kept that not even he can find it.
Osman has thus been forced into adopting a more devious (though some might say lazy) approach, and for that he will need your help. Once you work out how to get into the sorceress's concealed garden, it will be up to you to watch the routes of the patrolling guards and sneak past for the fruity rewards. Different seasons are rumoured to affect each of the gardens, and it can be assumed that more experienced thieves will have access to more bountiful sq’irk trees. Even if helping Osman is not to your taste, the gardens are also home to herb-beds, which could be plundered by those wary enough to avoid any guardians. So head to Al Kharid to help this thirsty gentleman of leisure or to stock up on ingredients - either way, there are profits to be had in this new minigame.
In other news:
Following requests from players, we've taken a look at the way the combat system handles your attack style when you're autocasting spells. People were finding that the system would put them into the defensive mode if they ran out of runes or switched to a different kind of weapon. This isn't necessarily useful, since some fighters prefer not to get Defence XP.
Instead, the system will now try to remember the last combat mode you were in before you started autocasting spells. If you're autocasting spells in the mode that doesn't give Defence XP and you switch weapons or run out of runes, you should find yourself in that combat mode. If you're autocasting spells in the mode that does give Defence XP, you should instead find yourself in a defensive combat mode.
As with all changes to the combat system, we advise you to take extra care, to make sure things are behaving how you expect them to.

Players' Gallery Makeover
13 February 2007 - Players' Gallery Makeover

We've made some minor changes to this month's gallery. The popular pixel art image is now viewable in a complete form, with a link to the image at its original size, along with some other minor improvements. Also, three lovely new images now fill the gaps created by making that change.
Having bounced from town to town, showing-off the magnificent artwork that he has accumulated, Postie Pete has noticed that his pictures are getting a bit worn. Teeth marks have been appearing around the edges (you try to show the Kalphite Queen a painting using only your mouth) and the magical laminate has been wearing off. In an attempt to keep his gallery pristine, Postie Pete has visited his old drinking pal, Salarin the Twisted, who has conjured up a magnificent new viewing receptacle for his beloved artwork. Check out the new Players' Gallery page for a guided tour and a fine new selection of creative wonders!
Postie Pete has also asked permission to mention a second change to the Players' Gallery. A new email address, , has been set-up for your admissions. He has been worried that artwork may have been getting mixed up with his letters, and he can't be having that!

14 February 2007 - Minigame updates

The Barbarian Assault minigame has received a small update today. Those who have been successfully defeating the vile Penance creatures will be pleased to hear that Commander Connad is now offering even greater rewards than before for anyone who feels brave enough to risk their points in his high-level gamble.
The barbarians are also offering a new way to cash in points to advance your level in the four roles. At the end of a wave, the message scroll now features a button that will let you exchange points for a higher level in the role you have just played. This lets you advance your level without leaving your team-mates to visit Commander Connad.
In addition to these changes, the Sorceress's apprentice is now refusing to let people take pets into the Sorceress's Garden.

14 February 2007 - German Language Beta Launch – Some Information

Hello and guten Tag!
As you might have noticed, we've just added a German language option to the sidebar on the front page of our website. This goes to a section of this website where all the text in the game and on the website has been translated into German.
At the moment our German section is online for testing only, which means not all areas are available to everyone yet. Anyone can view the open areas, but the areas which need a login (including the game itself) are currently running in “closed beta” mode, which means you will only be able to visit them if we have specifically invited you to take part.
As you know, we only ever contact people through their message inbox in the secure customer support section of the website, so if you haven’t had a message from us, then you haven’t been asked to try them out. You’re not missing out on anything, though: there are no special new objects or anything new at all on the German worlds, only that the Wise Old Man, Bob and everything else is “auf Deutsch”!
IMPORTANT WARNING: Remember that we only ever contact players via their RuneScape message inbox on this website. We will NEVER invite you via your email or via in-game messages, so DO NOT FALL FOR ANY SCAMS. Also we do NOT have secret sites on which you can sign up for the German beta. Any site claiming to be such is a fake designed to steal your password.
Just as a reminder, your messages from us can only be read by clicking on the “Read your messages from Jagex” button on the front page of our website, in the “Account management” section on the left of the page.
We are not currently looking for any more people to join the beta test, so please do not contact our staff to offer your services and, again, beware of people offering to ‘get you in’.
The people who have been invited were chosen randomly from a list of our German players. They are not being paid or given any special treatment by us, they are simply given the opportunity to try out the new German servers and help us iron out the bugs before they are opened to the rest of the public. A huge amount of effort has gone into translating the roughly 1.5 million words on the website and the game, but some of our NPCs (especially King Roald) have been less than cooperative while learning this new language, so one or two words might have slipped through the net.
Players on these closed beta worlds (139 F2P and 140 members) will still be able to talk to their friends and play the game as normal.
Once the “closed beta” stage has finished and we have educated all of our NPCs about the proper way to pronounce “Wiederherstellungstrank”, we will be opening the servers for everyone to use, just like all of our existing servers.
Thank you... and danke!
(Wiederherstellungstrank means restore pot... honest)

New Runescape Quest Guide!

While working on the new RPG section for my community, I have gotten together with a friend and created our first Quest Guide for Runescape! (NO Stealing! Seriously...)
It's a PDF, too! I'll see if I can attatch it...
Black Knights Foretress Guide
----------
In other notes, I have found a couple of handy websites for webmasters and gamers alike.
First an Advanced D&D Website I've been dying to share; Dragonsfoot! It is the best website I have seen for AD&D. They have their own forums, spell library, free adventures and novels, character sheets and more. Go to www.dragonsfoot.org to check it out!

The Next one is one for webmasters or frequent web surfers. SnipURL is a very handy site. Don't you just hate it when you get those long website address and can't take the time to remember them or write them down? Well, with SnipURL, you can just paste the address and it "Snips the URL" down so it is easier to use!

Last in the notes for right now; NetLingo... This website is very useful for new Internet useful, or for people who want to understand online chat easier. Check it out here; http://www.netlingo.com/emailsh.cfm ...

Apologies and Runescape Updates

Woa I apologize... I haven't posted Runescape Updates since January 22 07... So here are them, directly from www.runescape.com.

16 January 2007 - Interfaces and spooky wallpapers
This week brings a short break from the principal updates of the month, giving you all time to prepare for the forthcoming zombies and penguins! We've sent our highly talented team of artistic demons through some of the most commonly used interfaces and menus in the game and given them a much needed graphical makeover. Check out the new look of the Magic spellbook - now working without a scrollbar - and the Skill Advance guides. There's even a feature on the Friends List to show you which world you're on!
As you may be aware, we've been working very hard towards releasing RuneScape in other languages, and we need to free up more space on our interfaces for future developments. With this in mind, we've shrunk the text in the Quest Journal list by a point.
In addition to the in-game graphical update, we also bring you five new wallpapers. The undead beings of RuneScape have been getting rather jealous of the graphical updates other creatures have been receiving, so now it's their turn. Check out the concept art wallpapers to whet your appetite for this forthcoming update. We promise bones, bandages and braaaains galore!
Along with the creature concept image comes a bizarre holiday snap showing what Tim and Crunchy, the warrior and skeleton from the Detail Select page, did on their holidays, plus a candid insight into the world of the Wise Old Man - whatever could that be lurking beneath his desk? Head over to the Downloads page to see what all the fuss is about.

22 January 2007 - The Lair of Tarn Razorlor
It's time to dust off your undead combat kit! This week's update brings you the doom-laden lair of Tarn Razorlor!
Tarn is a necromancer who has discovered the power of the Salve crystal. If you've defeated Treus Dayth in the Haunted Mine quest, there's nothing to stop him from laying his evil hands on a piece of this precious crystal. Unfortunately, his intentions for this incredible mineral would make many a dead adventurer turn in their grave - if Tarn hadn't been there first...
Equip your Salve Amulet and head over to the Haunted Mine in the south-west of Morytania to experience the thrill of combat against the newly-awakened undead. With new monsters to fight, new traps to disarm and new treasures to unearth, can you survive the challenge of Tarn's Lair?
In addition to Tarn's new dungeon full of undead creatures, we've improved the look of many of the other undead monsters. Throughout the lands and dungeons of RuneScape, the zombies, skeletons and ghosts now have a brand new look and a far more convincing lurch. If you venture to the pyramids in the desert you'll find that the mummies have been similarly redecorated.
In other news...
We've made a slight adjustment to the ring of stone. Previously, when you changed back from being a rock, you'd have to unequip the ring and put it back on before you could become a rock again. It will now unequip itself automatically, just like the Ring of Egg does, which should be far more convenient for all you rock impersonators out there.
The bug that made the fire cape appear upside down in your inventory has been fixed!
The Barbarians have declared that they are fed up tripping over people's pet cats in the Barbarian Assault caverns, so they are now forbidding anyone from taking pets down the ladder into the minigame area.
Finally, in response to requests from players, it is no longer possible to trade the following items:
Eye of gnome
Paramaya Inn ticket
Skull
Pole
Hollow reed
Palm leaf
Bad wine
Unfermented wine
Leaf-bladed spear

29 January 2007 - What's black and white and goes green when it's finished?

It's a penguin quest!
Many have pondered the big questions in life: Who am I? Why am I here? What are those shifty penguins really up to? But none had taken the last one more seriously than Larry, a rather discombobulated* Ardougne Zookeeper. He's long suspected those penguins were up to no good, and now he's going to prove it.
Larry is preparing to set off on an observational research trip to an iceberg in the Lunar Sea. He needs your help to get supplies and build a bird hide, where he will put your skills and your patience to the test. Be careful, though: a relaxing trip of penguin-watching is bound to reveal far more sinister things afoot... or aflipper.
For those of you eager to take on this challenge, you’ll get to explore a brand new iceberg where you're likely to meet some interesting - and strangely musical - creatures who can even teach you a few new emotes. You'll also be rewarded with access to a brand new Agility course involving swimming through dangerous waters, avoiding falling icicles, slipping on ice and sliding on your belly!
But not all is fun and games with these penguins. Be prepared to step into someone else's shoes, er, claws and discover what the penguins are planning in their Cold War.
To start this quest, go and visit Larry by the penguin enclosure at the Ardougne Zoo.
*Is nothing to do with disco, or Bob.
In other news...
In Barbarian Assault, defenders will find that their barricades now last for longer when they try to block the Penance caves.
Icons have been added to the minimap to indicate places where sandpits may be found.

29 January 2007 - Postbag from the Hedge
Postie Pete has been on his rounds once again. This month he is proud to bring you letters revealing more of the history of the Guardians of Armadyl, Count Draynor's opinion of modern youth, yet more ramblings from everyone's favourite Chaos Elemental and, best of all, some dubious extracts from the Wise Old Man's collection of jokes.
Check out the Postbag now and see what else the Postie has for you...

1 February 2007 - Behind the Scenes - February

Welcome to the February BTS article.
Starting this month, we will bring you the islands of Jatizso & Neitiznot, ruled over by two brothers and a rather unpleasant Troll King. Now, normally, you’d expect two strong and noble Fremennik clans to unite together and defeat the yak-eating, bone crunching trolls, but the years of petty name calling and abuse have meant both brothers fear each other more than the creatures that rule the linking islands between them.
Settling such a dispute won’t be easy, especially as you will have to work with both of them eventually. You’ll be chopping up new arctic pines, fashioning bridges, collecting taxes, creating new armours, donning disguises to spy on important meetings and eventually find a way to test the might of the ice trolls. While attempting all of that, you’ll also be helping out the villagers as you try to equip them for the coming troubles... AND keeping the two clans away from each other. You might even get to try a spot of grudge-fixing on the way round these Fremennik Isles.
Elsewhere, Osman has been miserably staring into his empty glass of sq’irk juice. For years he was able to deal directly with the sorceress to provide his favourite tipple, before their disagreement over prices. Since then, Osman has tried desperately to find out how she grows them, but the secret is so well kept that not even Al Kharid's spymaster can find it. Osman will soon be forced into adopting a more devious approach; and for that he will need your help. Once you work out how to get into the concealed garden, it will be up to you to watch the patrolling guards and sneak past for the fruity rewards. Different seasons will affect each of the gardens, and you’ll find that more experienced thieves will have access to the more bountiful sq’irk trees. You will also be able to grab handfuls of herbs on the way - if you’re not interested in supplying Osman with his favourite thirst-quenching treat.
The seers have been nervous recently following the discovery of some rather disturbing predictions in Phantuwti’s proverbial tea leaves. Apparently, deep in the darkness, something, or several somethings, are beginning to move. Great powers are once again beginning to shift... but towards what?
This admittedly doesn't make much sense, but the seers, as usual, are merely cryptic messengers and very unlikely to be much more help. If these predictions are as ominous as they sound, though, it will be worth keeping your eyes peeled for the unusual over the coming weeks and months.
The second quest of the month will focus on a newly built tower south of Ardougne... well, almost newly built. You see, the crew hired to build the place have been struggling to come to terms with some really rather odd occurrences and missing tools - either that or the constructors' union has just decided to call a particularly long tea break. The mages due to live in the tower are growing impatient as they have pressing research regarding the true nature of magic and logic – and all the arguments that exist in-between. No doubt you’ll find yourself wrapped up in such an experiment, especially if it’s so big it requires an entire tower to be built. Exciting new puzzles, new outfits and a rather novel training dungeon await...The Knowledge Base will also be contributing with a slightly more eclectic batch of additions this month. You’ll see all of the normal Postbag from the Hedge, Players’ Gallery and new Area Guides to support the month's updates, but several of our existing articles are also being updated to contain even more useful information and advice. Check it out regularly to see all of the interesting additions; you’re bound to find something useful.
Enjoy!

6 February 2007 - Fremennik Isles
Those brave warriors who have already completed the Fremennik Trials have a challenging new quest to get their teeth into. The Fremennik Isles quest introduces a new area larger than Falador to enjoy and explore, featuring two new villages, new mines to plunder, armour to make, trees to chop, yaks to skin and a huge smelly rabble of trolls to confront. The islands of Jatizso & Neitiznot were founded by two quarreling Fremennik brothers who left the land of their father to prove themselves. Instead of finding two isolated lands to rule without worrying about each other, they unwittingly set up as neighbours, and their feud continues to this day. However, a new foe has threatened their silly sibling squabbling. Trolls, more trolls and yet more trolls - led by the imposing Ice Troll King - lurk nearby. Each village is only a few bridges away from troll-ish destruction.Normally, you’d expect two strong and noble Fremennik clans to unite together and defeat the yak-eating, bone-crunching trolls, but the years of petty name-calling and abuse have meant that the brothers fear each other more than the trolls that threaten to destroy them. Are you prepared to step into this quagmire of resentment to deal with the real threat?Fremennik warriors brave and wise enough to accept the challenge will need to be skilled with their hands, using knife and axe as well as sword. You’ll be killing yaks, building bridges, collecting taxes, fashioning smelly armour, donning disguises to spy on important meetings and dodging rocks before taking on the might of the Ice Troll King and his horde.
Barbarian AssaultDown in the murky Barbarian Assault caverns, change is in the air. The barbarians have installed a new dispenser for Collectors to use. It converts eggs from one type to another: green eggs to red eggs, red and blue eggs to green eggs. Only Collectors of levels 2 or above may make use of this feature. The dispenser is not perfect, and eggs have a high chance of being destroyed. Higher-level Collectors have a far better chance of the eggs surviving the transformation process; this is to give more of a reason for levelling up the Collector role. The barbarians have also increased the supplies available to Attackers. Their dispenser now gives runes and arrows in multiples of 50 rather than 15, and its stock now includes death runes. Although this would normally make Ancient Magicks available in the area, the Barbarians strongly prefer players not to use any such spells. The egg launcher's interface now lists how many eggs of each type it contains. The cavern used for Wave 10 has been slightly modified to stop penance runners getting stuck.
In other news...Servants in player-owned houses are now subject to increased security measures. In particular, they will now require you to enter your Bank PIN when you ask them to withdraw items from the bank, unless you've already entered it since you logged in.Ava's Attractor and Accumulator will no longer work on non-members' worlds.Rings of recoil and rings of forging have a handy new feature. If you right-click on them via the Worn Items interface and choose the "Operate" option, they will tell you how many more charges they've got.
-------------------------------------

Okay... There they are. Lot's of 'em too!
Again, I apologize, I've just been busy and am working on a new D&D Campaign.

I might even start a podcast. So many great ones out there like Dragons Landing Inn and The Tome I might not want to compete... Who knows, cya!

LINKIN PARK New Song!!! (Qwerty Vid)

It's so cool! Linkin Park has a new song out!! People thought that Linkin Park was over after Mike Shinoda went to Fort Minor, but LINKIN PARK is still a band! Their new song, "QWERTY" is quite good, actually. There is a video for it on YouTube, but it is scenes from other concerts and pictures.

Google Hijacked?

Has Google been hijacked? Some people think it has but no, it hasn't. Someone has created a new Trojan Downloader that infects peoples system through Google. It is my belief that it downloads zipfiles secretly that contain your most often Google searches in the name. These zipfiles continuously download spyware, adware and Trojans onto your computer without you even knowing. The Google toolbar most likely contributes to your vulnerability to this virus. As far as I know, this infection if Windows only. (Lucky Macs) It is a system infection, not just a virus. (Both Internet Explorer and Firefox on the same computer has noted the infection.) A good program to use to find this Virus is HijackThis!, a program that detects your processes on your computer and any system changes mad since you got it. This allows you to see the virus or viruses and remove them. Any regular anti-virus or anti-spyware programs freeze up when it gets to the virus.

Here is a post by someone who has been infected by this virus, at Experts-Exchange.

Title: Google Hijack
asked by moeman99 on 06/10/2005 10:13AM PDT

My Google has been taken over, please help! This is not just an IE issue as this same behavior is present in Firefox. When I type a search into Google it takes me to a results page that looks something like Google but the returned links seem to be paid advertisements that may or may not have anything to do with what I was searching for.None of the links on my Google page work either. (ie, Images, Groups, Advanced Search, etc.) . When click one of these, the page does not change but the address in my address bar changes from "http://google.com/" to "http://google.com/#".I am unable to connect to gmail either, when I try, it takes me to "The page cannot be found" page. I've done a virus scan (McAfee) and found nothing. I've run Spybot, Ad-Aware, and XoftSpy with no luck.I've hunted this site for help but have not been successful.
